Professional and Individual service
It is very simple really, you are thinking of inviting someone you don’t know to the most important day of your life. You are asking them to capture the essence of what the day means to you both. We are sure that having met and discussed your wedding day with us, you will be sure that this is safely left in our hands!
Q. Who will be filming, and what experience have they?
A. A Cornwall based international film maker (more info...)

Your wedding will go by so quickly you'll think it was in fast forward - unless you can hit a 'pause' button!
A wedding video should be a priority for most brides, and yet many will feel that the photography is enough to capture the day. Considering that the photographs will then be the only lasting record of the wedding, it is a great pity. The video is often viewed, the words spoken to each other can be heard again and again, but photographs generally stay in the cupboard. Most brides who didn't have a wedding video often regret their decision.
and why. . .?
Still Photography, the conventional choice, capturing the important elements of the day, recording the people present, usually around 150 images - each of a one hundredth of a second part of the day. The album of those photographs with the possibly 50 prints inside will cover just about a half second of your biggest day! Something usually left in a cupboard.
or
A Professionally made DVD film edited from coverage of the whole day "compressing" about 10 hours into a production lasting 60 - 90 minutes (that's at least 10.000 times more!) Three DVDs supplied can be easily copied, (they're yours, why shouldn't you?) sent to relatives and friends, and kept on your DVD shelf to be viewed (and heard) as often as you think of it.
If you feel that you don't want a camera under the feet of your guests, or simply hate the idea of being filmed, remember that good videographers are discreet and can position their cameras unobtrusively. We can guarantee that, if you hire a true professional, you will forget that they are there. Hopefully, you will be looking fantastic on your wedding day and that's worth filming. If you love the movement and swish of your dress, remember that the photographs cannot capture it! Discussion with your videographer will allow you to get to know him/her and on the day you’ll be able to treat him/her as just another guest.
We always consult fully with our client, preferably face to face or if this is not possible via email. This very short consultation will tell us how you want your video to look and what specifics you wish to see in it. We will send you a detailed “running script” stating clearly what we have jointly decided on, what is to be included and generally how it will be edited. We will also ask that our client contact us – anytime up to a fortnight before the wedding, to finalise any “loose ends” or make any minor changes. |
We recommend filming the rehearsal - if applicable within your chosen options - as this is our chance to meet your family members and friends prior to the wedding, for all of you to become happy with the camera and for us to meet with the officiating clergy. Having “rehearsed” ourselves and found the best locations, checked the light, (we don’t use lights at the ceremony) and the sound quality, our job goes smoothly and unobtrusively on the day. Once we have met with your principals, and they have become used to our presence we can capture the natural scenes and not the staged tacky “firing squad” shots against the church wall! In our meeting with you both we will find out how you see the day, what you expect, and how you would like the video record, perhaps moody and romantic or fun all the way, or even mixing both. Once we know your expectations and desires we can concentrate on delivering all you remembered, and some you missed from the day. Edited and mixed with the music you supply the emotions of your biggest day will last forever.
On the wedding day itself, we arrive on site well before the wedding (depending on what package you have chosen) and set up the cameras and audio, and then start filming the pre-ceremony events, outside and inside shots of your ceremony location, your family and friends arriving, etc. Once the ceremony starts, we tape the wedding as unobtrusively as is possible. The groom wears (if applicable) a small wireless microphone although this is only used for the couple's vows.
At the reception we don’t use lights, relying on ambient lighting as much as possible. A small portable camera mounted light may be used at appropriate times. If needed, and sometimes it is, we will supply wireless microphones for all the speakers, mixing the audio to the video soundtrack, When edited down, this soundtrack will give an excellent quality record of the speeches, professionalism really does count when it comes to recording equipment. Professional standard quality cameras and sound recording equipment continue to cost a great deal of money. Videographers who invest in this standard do so to obtain fabulous results and professional sound recording equipment is always used in the best productions. In addition to the equipment, the professional videographer will have the skill and trained eye that sets them apart from an amateur. Filming the wedding video is only part of the job, as editing the video needs skill and a great deal of time to perfect.- sometines 10 – 20 times the finished time of the film. Every wedding is unique and there is no such thing as a “Template” much beloved by some videographers, so the footage of your wedding and reception will be fully edited digitally as professional output always is, and your music added to those parts where it is appropriate.
Working alongside dedicated stills photography we can offer a combination of video and stills. These two are completely separate and images are not low quality snaps taken on our video cameras.
Once again we must stress that any “organisation” is done at the planning stage, and no prima-donna direction will happen on the day. Our whole concept is to capture (within the options you have defined) the Day as it happens, and as you would want to remember it.
