Brian Phillips is an international film maker specialising in sports and traditional events all over Europe. In 2008 He edited the DVD film "Invitation to The Dance", a feature length documentary about Helston Flora Day. When not working with video, he has photographed weddings at venues all over Cornwall. As one of the first Wedding Photographers to move to Digital, his philosophy is to make what is now a much less expensive procedure more accessible to those who have already committed to an excessively expensive programme for the most important day of their lives. Offering a much simplified programme, images for self printing as well as top quality prints, and with fees which make others' look laughable, his reputation has grown year by year.
More and more couples have lately requested video footage of their wedding in addition to still photography, and as a professional in this field, Brian has adapted his expertise in video to the constrictions of the Church service and the "private party", both of which he is already comfortable with as a reportage style stills photographer. |
There are indeed certain advantages to video, but only if professionally captured and edited, and in this also Brian's philosophy of keeping costs down is easily accommodated. Editing is fully digital and in house, and the ease of working this way is reflected in full day costs of around £1300 rather than the £2500+ you would normally be quoted.
"If I take a video clip of two and a half minutes, it is probably the equivalent of about 150 seperate photographs, and there is of course the added bonus of having good quality sound recording such as for the actual vows. In an edited 60 minute DVD the 40% you remember, and the 60% you missed are all kept indefinitely - as are the emotions of the day. From experience the equivalent would probably be around 2500 photographs - an almost impossible task!"
Brian would be happy to meet you, to discuss your wedding requirements and to show examples of his work.
